Google Play Billing: Publisher Purchase in Release App (Redeem Promotion Code)

To overcome The publisher cannot purchase this item limitation during during development, refer to Android Play Billing Library Testing.

What if I want to enable in-app purchase feature on my production/release app which happens to be a Developer Account?

Technically, you can't perform a purchase using Developer Account, but you are enable the in-app purchase by redeeming a promotion code.

Create Promotion

Goto Google Play Console.

Select app. User acquisition -> Promotions -> Add New Promotion.

Redeem Promotion Code

Start the Google Play app on your android device. Click on the left menu (3 lines icon), select Redeem and enter the code.
